Led by Dr Orla Conlon

Dr Orla Conlon believes in empowering women to listen to their bodies and realise the impact their gynaecological health has on their over all health and wellbeing, relationships, lifestyle and ability to work. She recognises  that women know their own bodies believes in the holistic approach to women’s health and the impact the menstrual cycle has on every organ of the body. 

Orla graduated from Queens University Belfast in 1995. She completed her MRCOG in 2000 and became a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2007. 

She worked as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the Western NHS Trust in Northern Ireland for 9 years. As well as her clinical commitment  she also held the post of RCOG Postgraduate Tutor, Clinical Governance Lead and was then appointed as Lead Clinician for the southern sector of the Western Trust. 

 In 2014 the RCOG awarded Dr Orla Conlon elevation to Fellowship recognising her dedication to women’s health throughout her career. 

She   is the Medical Director of Marble Arch Health and leads a multi professional team specialising in women’s health with clinics in Enniskillen and Galway. Dr Conlon also carries out surgery in Kingsbridge Private Hospital Sligo and at Blackrock Health, Galway Clinic. She is currently a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the Galway Clinic. 

In 2018 she graduated as an Associate of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. 

Orla also spent 5 years working in the Child Abuse and Rape Enquiry Unit (CARE) with the Police Service of Northern Ireland. She also holds a Diploma in Psychosexual Medicine which she feels is essential in her approach to individualising women in the assessment of their needs. 

She has always had an interest in peri-natal mental health. She was  co-author of an article in the RCOG’s peer review journal ‘The Obstetrician & Gynaecologist’ on ‘Maternal Deoression: The risk factors and treatment options during pregnancy’. She believes in the importance of recognising and managing depression during pregnancy as well as post-natally. 

Her other special interests include management of menstrual disorders, treatment of uterine fibroids, management of urinary incontinence, vaginal surgery for uterovaginal prolapse, colposcopy, vulval disorders,  recurrent miscarriage , psychosexual disorders and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.  

Orla  is currently on the Board of the Menopause Society of Ireland  and is the  Irish representative on the ISSVD Committee (International Society for the Study of Vulval Disease) for international vulval awareness day. 

 Throughout her career Orla  has organised and presented at many national and international conferences and has several publications in peer review journals. 

She has also been involved in many GP education

She is currently promoting  a social media campaign to educate and empower women in relation to their health. 

Orla enjoys Pilates but says she would much prefer performing a vaginal hysterectomy than cooking a dinner!
